Another newbie needs your help.

I have just purchased a 51 plate freelander 2.0 auto diesel hd4.everything was fine until i noticed that after driving off after about 30 seconds the handbrake light comes on.

Does the handbrake light come on if break pads/shoes are needing replaced.

I have also noticed that what appears to be a sensor located at the bottom of the brake fluid reservoir is damaged , could this be the problem.
If so could someone identify the part and where i could purchase one.

tiz also a low brake fluid warning, so it is likely that it is that sensor.

Thanks for your imput ,I was hoping it would be the sensor.
do you have any idea what the sensor is called , and is it bought separately or do i need to buy brake fluid resorvoir.
