Hi All

I have a 97 P38 with 112,000 miles on the clock full main dealer service history upto 84,000 and friend owened the car from then to present. I'm looking to get it converted to LPG, my question is I have been told that if I convert it to LPG at this kind of mileage I am looking at it bu**ering the engine is there any thruth in this or is it a Range Rover myth. The car drives great no mayo in the oil filler cap starts with half a turn of the key every morning and the temp gauge never goes over half even when I spent 90 mins stuck in traffic this week. I don't want to go to the expense if it may cause severe damage in the future.

Thanks

Well mines got 142,000 miles and i run it on LPG every day. Still runs like a dream but it has been impeccably serviced by LR. I've only owned it for 2 weeks but have already done loads of miles and its great so far.

My Rangy has 132k on it and LPG has caused no problems, I have converted a 2L Vectra with 100k on it a while ago and put 50k on it with no problems, well none to do with the gas, it was a vectra so just about everything else went wrong!!

ive owned a classic 4.2 lse on lpg it had 145000 on the clock , a p38a 4.0 with 178000 on the clock also on lpg , my present p38a 4.6 hse has a replacement low mileage engine just fitted ( 4 mths ago ) and i transfered my lpg kit from the old to the new engine all of the above ran great no problems from lpg whatsoever .
all i can say is if you decide to get it converted the DO NOT have single point , have a good quality sequential system fitted and the only difference you will notice running on lpg will be in your fuel costs savings .
rick.
