Good evening all,
Well, I'm just about at the end of my teather with my wife's P38 Diesel (1995).
Let me start by saying I have used the search function but haven't found any information that deal with my specific issues.
So...
The fuel injection pump is leaking from both the rectangular fly-by-wire throttle housing (I think that's what it is) and also the end plate that the high pressure fuel pipes come out of at the back of the pump.
I have pointed out where I mean on the attached picture (Sample picture, not my pump, that is still in the car).

Can anybody advise if you can reseal the back section of the pump?
The fly-by-wire throttle housing, I have been advised that the rectangular o-ring (I know that's a contradiction in terms) is not available from Bosch (Barstewards!), has anyone come up with a replacement for this seal from anywhere?
Any help will be greatly received.
I can't afford a new or recon pump but I am more than capable mechanically (I've changed a million things on this thing!) so I would like to tackle sorting the issues out but need to know the following:
Can I remove the back section of the pump or will all sorts of things pop out and will it mess the calibration up?
Can I get the seal or gasket for the back section of the pump?
Has anyone found a source for the throttle input housing (I have unbolted this and seen the seal for myself so I know I can get to that.
All and any help will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Andy.

I described how to change pressure head seal recently do a search. Be careful with EDC connection the contacts are soldered onto the pump internals and can break free. If they do you will need to remove the top of the pump to repair them. Just the top NOT the mid section.

Thanks Wammers, I was unsure what it was called so I'll do a search now I know!
Any thoughts on where to get a seal to fit the EDC?
Biketeacherdave, if you could I'd appreciate it mate.
Thanks again,
Andy.

Grrrrr (previous poster, not me making the noise), unfortunately the seal kits do not include the EDC seal as Bosch do not sell it, I confirmed this with a Bosch specialist who's comment was; "You'll have to put a load of sealant around it as Bosch, the bastards, don't sell that seal." I don't want to bodge it so I'm trying to find an alternative replacement from somewhere.

In that case I'd pop down to Diesel Jones as Wammers suggested. They're down Nuttall Street in Manchester so not so far from you. Seem to be a decent lot.

HI Dopey,
As previously said, the EDC seal is not included in the full kits available (I know, I have one) and having spoken to a bosch specialist, Bosch themselves do not offer this seal so I need to find something to replace it with from an alternative source.
Cheers,
Andy.
