So it's dark and raining hard!! Perfect time to discover another leak eh?

Well its definately putting something on the tarmac - looks and smells like autobox fluid. From the front of the Disco dripping down to the passenger side.

Now im not even gonna open the lid til the morning but whats your best guess??

being a newbie.....i'm stuck!

Autobox cooling of some descrpition maybe??

Just need a pointer as to what to look for..

Ta guys

Rich

Eeeeks! Hope not!! Replaced the pump last w/e...hmmmmm.

Now did I tighten all the hose clips.......???

theres always an option that ur engine may not have been cleaned properly and now its raining and uve got water everywhere it just may be oil and grease washing off ur engine

Hope so although it was definately warm and fluid smelling and quite a pronounced drip - more of a small stream!!

Well had a look this morning and its p***ing fluid from the bottom cooler pipe that goes into the rad!

So - are these a pain to fit???????

Is this a common fault?

Thanks guys

Rich

hahaha no theyre not expensive and not difficult to fit get two new jubilee clips just to get piece of mind i would and a hose should be about £7

Dont they just screw into the rad unions though??

hmm - also - just paid 17 quid for one - spot the newbie!!!

The LR clamped joints go after a while. Better to take the whole shebang of both pipes to a decent hydraulic place and get the pipes made up with better pipe and fittings. We do this often, it also costs 1/3 of the LR Stealer price and they never ever fail again. Our local place offers a replacement so we don't have to leave the old pipes there any more. They re-use the metal pipes.

So ive got the new pipe for the auto box cooling. I have removed the two ends from the cooler - although the unions seem to be corroded and the whole shebang unscrewed from the cooler. Next - the gearbox end. One is fairly obvious and looks straight forward enough but the other disappears up one side of the box and for the life of me I cant see any way of undoing the union.

Anybody had to do this job or got any clues???

Thanks

Rich
