First day in my 110 diesel, and I already ended up on the hard shoulder. My drive belt snapped. Probably from the car standing around for so long before I bought it. So no problem, bought a new one. Which.... doesn't fit. Its the 1025mm belt it should be on my 2.5 n/a diesel. But I cant get it on there. I found a somewhat longer belt laying around. A 1100mm from god knows what car. But that one is way to long.

Could it be my car is fitted with a larger pulley somewhere. Or the alternator is bigger, and can therefore not be set back enough to allow for the belt to get on.

Because the 1025 only needs to be a tiny bit longer. I was thinking of getting a 1050mm if such a thing even exists. But still, its odd the 1025 wont fit.

they are a tight fit to get on when new. Put it around the alternator pulley last and then turn the pulley to wind the belt on over the lip.
