Just a brief update, because nothing is going right and so I don't want to talk about it 
I think my growing frustration is because:
a) the things I'm doing at the moment should be easy, but are being a nightmare
b) it's getting cold out on the drive and it saps your energy and enthusiasm
Can't get the rear door to fit properly, as the bottom frame hits the seal and steel thresh. It needs to be higher somehow, but don't know how to raise it.
Turned my attention to the brake pipes at the front. The kit doesn't seem correct as one of the pieces to go between the servo and the valve has a different fitting on each end, but the threaded holes in the servo and the valve are the same! More research needed.

RE : The Fuel tank, just tip POR-15 Fuel Tank Sealer in it, it will give a seal inside the tank and job will be good!

Autoglass won't fit the windscreen for me. Will only fit if they supply the screen and seal. I'll have another go at doing it myself
Looking ahead, I'm going to start to prep the furniture (The Mrs is helping me) I need to clean some bits up
These are the rear seat tilting brackets. Once rubbed down, I'm going to use Fertan, I've used it for the first time recently on my fuel tank and was pleased with it. Reckon it will be really good with surfaces you can actually rub down and paint the stuff on. Got a few other bits to clean up so looking forward to using it!

Personally I wouldn't worry about the tank. Once full of diesel the tank won't rust, it's a oil at the end of the day and will act as a rust inhibitor.
Re the door, can it be shimed? We have a set of french doors that could not be adjusted to stop them hitting the frame, I pulled the top hinge in closer to the feame and pushed the bottom out, then before hanging the doors I inserted washers between the two. Has worked fine for yrs

Autoglass won't fit the windscreen for me.
Have you tried looking in yellow pages or google? There seems to be quite a few indies around Southampton, so I would imagine it'd be the same through the country....

I've bought a round file and I'm going to elongate the holes in the body and hinges.

Nearly got it in, but had to take it out to have second go. Over flexed it getting it out.

Sorry, Knifey. Should have said it cracked due to that over flexing! Just read the post again and it doesn't explain.
It hasn't really got light here for two days. Thick fog/cloud ( live on a hill) and rain. This has forced me to do work indoors which, to be fair, will need doing at some point.
Set myself up a spray booth in the garage tonight
Got a fan heater on underneath to keep the place warm.
I'm busy painting the rear seat hinges and backrest bars, the support bars from underneath, some radiator surround and slam panel bits, the steel intercooler pipe and some seat belt brackets. Done the exhaust hangers too but going to paint those with rustoleum.
This pictures shows how wet the carpet in the back was
The Mrs has taken apart the centre front seat as it had some splits in the top.
She bought a new rear seat back off ebay and is sewing in a repair panel.
The seat retaining straps are goosed too, but I've found the same stainless catches on ebay, so should be an easy for the Mrs to make some new ones.
The shine has gone off my headlight surrounds
I'll be taking them apart tonight and trying to rescue the adjusting screws.
Although the list for another LR Direct or Paddocks order is growing.

Definitely a keeper, mate. She loves the Landy. To be honest, strictly speaking, it belongs to her. I'd always wanted one, but they weren't that practical for us way, way back. Then she said she wanted one for her birthday, but it had to be a 'genuine county with seats in the back'. There is a god, after all.

If there is a god, he's mucking me about again.
Just taken the surrounds off the headlights and some of the reflective chrome inside has gone white. How much can you get away with before it's an MOT fail? I'm guessing non if it's noticed!

Ha, ha,
I was quite please with the set up myself! Had to stop spraying now though, I've had to start drinking Guinness as the fumes were getting to me Looked the headlights up. Wipac £12.18 +VAT, Land Rover £39.23 +VAT
Surely a Wipac headlight would turn up, just the same! The headlight adjusting screws, self tappers and clips were £6.79 +VAT per side, so I've used pliers to get them out of the rusted surround and applied the magical Fertan to them.
They should be champion by tomorrow night. Paint the clips and rub some Dinitrol on the screws - good as new

Thanks for the kind words, mate. They are greatly appreciated. I'm inspired by great builds by people on this forum, much, much better builds than mine. They constantly show me how high the bar can be and their innovative ideas, experience and knowledge shared on here has enabled me to do what I have done.
Another brief update:
The Mrs has completed the patch repair on the top of the front centre seat, which had some canny holes in it.
The rear seat hinges and back rest bars are now rust free and a lovely satin black.

Well it stopped raining this afternoon and so I thought I'd whip the tarp off and spend some time adjusting the hinges and the latch on the back door. The tarp must have a small hole in it, probably from me standing on it when its lying alongside the car
Anyway, this had led to loads of water running down off the roof, through the windscreen hole and all over the clocks and wiring harness
This pushed me to give the windscreen another go! This time with success
Didn't need Autoglass after all!
Obviously, the vent flaps and seals need to be next, but I'm not sure how to bond them in. I know there are self adhesive ones, but I bought the wrong ones. I've read somewhere of using contact adhesive, but will this not dissolve the surface of the paint?
I've got some bitumen based adhesive (for roofs) that I have been using on the body panel joints under the door seals that might be ok. Anyone used anything successfully?
