Have a 1995 Disco 300tdi - a vehicle I absolutely love and use for work and private.
About 2 years ago after being parked outside on a damp and humid September night, on turning the key to start there was an odd, quiet little electrical "thunk" noise - as if somthing had just blown. She started ok, ran normally and I went off to work but noticed the clock had re-set itself, the radio didn't work and neither did the internal lights. Also remote control and alarm not working. Later checked all fuses, expecting an easy fix, but no joy.
These faults have never been resolved; have tried isolating the various components, chasing cables and checking connections - but never with any success. Have come to accept them now as minor irritants (although not having inside lights at night can be a real nuisance) as otherwise the vehicle runs brilliantly.
But I'm sure one of you bright sparks has a theory as to the cause.
I don't know if it is related, but another problem is that the rear window motors are intermittent in operation - sometimes after starting it will be 10 mins down the road before I can raise or lower the windows (which if I left them open the day before and it's now raining is a pain to say the least!)
Would much appreciate anyone's ideas and advice - it would be nice to get these problems sorted (I assume some are related?) once and for all.
Cheers, Alan

the windows are controlled by an ecu under the dashboard behind the glove box, it is usually a faulty solder joint.
do a search and you'll find all you need on here,
and welcome to the mad house.

With electrical faults you must deal with each one in turn or you won't know where you are, although it's possiable that the radio and clock are related. There two earth points to check they are located behinde the footwell kick panels also there fuseable links to check in the engine bay fusebox.

Is your fob a single button of a two button fob as there are two different alarm/locking systems. First thing to check is the fob's battery.
And you need wiring diagrames you will find them in a Haynes manual for the disco.
