hi there.
New to forum, have a problem with a 99/00 my range 4.6 hse auto. Just stopped working one day ie. turning over and no spark. Every auto lec in the area has looked at it and none could fix it.
So it has now been to the dealer and i have an identified problem.
The problem is the engine ecu has failed and the dealer wants an extra £1,171.58 to fit me a new one in, on top of the £367.16 to supply a fully functioning key 1 they needed and a few hours diagnostic.
The dealer strongly recommends a new ecu from them, but is there a possibility of a second hand unit being programmed to my car and who does this?
Bad economic times have hit hard and i only had £1000 set aside to fix this, i was hoping on less.
Can anyone help ?
Would be much much much appreciated as i miss my old girl she's been dead for 2 months now !
