I have the old style doors on my Defender, the lift up handle type but with the 'roll'down' glass.

Im after buying some second hand ones but im not sure to go with the newer style 'push button' type or the Series lift handle with the sliding glass type :confused::confused:

Im liking the 'minimal' nothing to go wrong' feel with the series doors, but are the windows a bit restricted with only half the glass to slide????

What do you guys recon??? :)

Cheers Scott

I had military doors with the sloping windows (sliding) and they were great but there where times when wind up windows would have been better.

Like when I rolled it & had to climb out the fookers. Good job I is a skinny fooker.

Ha oh eye! Last weekend on a P+P day i got it stuck in a track where the doors couldnt open from the banks of the track and had to climb outa the window! Not thought of that! :D

It is a bit of a pain in the arse not being able to open the window fully but you soon get used to it. I used to try to stick me head out and tw&t me face on the edge of the fixed pane. Not funny.

One benefit I can think of with the old-style doors (apart from looking much better imo) is that you'd still be able to open the doors in sub-zero temperatures :D The push-button style can freeze up pretty easily, meaning the button doesn't do anything when you push it. Bloody annoying!
