I took out the original Alpine stereo and put an new one in. All is working fine except that the volume is very quickly very loud (up to 4 and the speakers pop out of the doors).

Is there anyway of adjusting the volume on the amplifier?

Not directly, I don't think. You're probably going to need a couple of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SPEAKER-T...757495?hash=item4d25eccbf7:g:J6gAAOSwY45UQNSo
Each one will reduce the input from the head unit to a level suitable for feeding into the amp.
You'll need two, one for the front set (Left and Right) of speakers and one for the rear set.
There's not much room behind the head unit so it's either going to need some extending to the various wires in question so that you can fit the adapters under the dash or doing the fitting under the passenger's seat, near the inputs to the amplifier.
