To the previous owner(s) of my N reg Defender 90, sprayed Atlantic Green last year, with exmoor trim front seat, grey benches at the back. Knackered Roof lining...

...I propose an amnesty, if you are reading this, you can reply - without backlash, letting me know if you have used any more wood screws (not the ones in the door card, I found them) JB Weld ( not the stuff in the rear barrel lock(WHY?!), I only found that once I had drilled it out because I didn't get a key) Silicone ( again, not the stuff In the window winders that made it really difficult to get the drivers side off, and the circle was doing a great job by itself!)

The, somewhat funny stuff, I am not too worried about - Infact it has made me laugh, I even put one of the wood screws back, but if there is a bodge that has the potential to be dangerous, do let me know! I am still new to the Land Rover game.

Mine has every screw holding all the dash on a different size, I keep meaning to put a post up here to see if anyone knows what they should be. The rest of it I have gone through and apart from the multiple leaks from pipes, radiator etc its now pretty sound. Except the inside which needs a clean, screws roof lining which looks bodged and all the doors need aligning. This is the beauty of defenders, if you are board there is always something to do.

I think many landys, over the years, acquire different screws. I just try to put the correct ones in when I change bits ...

I'm convinced that the PO of my 90 was a cross between Frank Spencer and Worzel Gummidge - the list of bodges is too long and depressing to detail. On a positive, after 2 years of ownership, I reckon I'm now about half way through putting things right - there again, every time I look, there's another 'surprise' waiting to kick me in the nuts and rape my wallet!

Happy days!

My bulkhead and chassis had expanding foam newspaper and filler in it... The wiring loom was stripped back and twisted together a hundred times and the engine died on its 4th outing... I got proper robbed
