Amber Warning lights and yes, I have done a search

however I don't speaka da lingo, so it's kinda going over my head! It's a '51 TD5 and I have the ABS, TC and another amber light on


They came on yesterday when I was towing my trailer, complete with horse, home from the horsepital. I have been using LR a bit on the ice recently and certainly was when leaving the vets yesterday, however when the lights came on I was on a dual carriageway and in HR. They came back on again today. After start up, they blink off and then come on again. I can't take it anywhere until Wednesday and need to use it 2x a day for short journeys until then. I'm assuming that as they are amber lights, it's just warning me to get whatever it is checked out, as if red it would be a don't move it scenario - correct?

Please explain as if to a gurl, who whilst isn't completely daft, doesn't understand engines...

Hi, as i've been looking for a discovery over the last few months i've also looked up common prob's and this is one, the other light is the hill decent light, they all work on the same system so this is why they are all on at once,

Its will be part of the abs system poss a wheel sensor or abs pump,

I'd drive it without thinking twice you just wont have any abs or tc if you get into trouble, (this statment is on my guess work you can not sue me if it goes wrong)lol

The ABS is still working (I think) as I got that funny playback from the brake pedal last night. I'll see if I can get I can take it in to be checked out on Weds - blummin bank holidays!

Don't bother too much with it, it's not so bad as it looks...i drove mine 3 months with them on without any probs....everything will work almost OK. If u read about 3 amigos u know that it could be many reasons for that ..... non of them vital for driveability(most common a small play in a wheel hub).....u can wait paciently untill next year to fix it...first of all u have to read the fault code to get closer to the reason.

OK, ta, but given the road conditions and the high liklihood that I will be towing again soon (and possibly a very long way) and the VAT increase, I think I'd best get it seen to this week.

first of all u have to read the fault code to get closer to the reason.

1. if u'll do that in a big hurry u might pay some money and dont fix the real problem....as said above read about 3 amigos and u'll see

2. The man at the garage will be able to scan the ABS ECU if he has the proper tool........if u go to a LR place they'll ripp u off for nothing.....u'll find the answer in previous threads...good luck
