Am i pricing myself out of the market?

I would just get it fixed. People know range rovers potentially cost lots if they go wrong so the mot reassures them to spend that sum to buy them.

You do say a lot about what faults there have been and how you fixed yourself. If it aint broke dont tell as its fine isnt it. Also telling of fixing yourself not at a dealers or garage puts people off.

People want to hear what it has, how tripped out it is etc. Sell it with praise for what works....with mot.

Hope that helps

if you were buying a car that you know has common faults, would you rather not know if those faults had recently been fixed? think im just going to mot it tomorrow and go from there

I'd be worried knowing that these p38's go wrong & there are no faults fixed.

Wouldn't it be better if seller stated that all servicable items & problem items fixed. I would then think - that's good I've bought at right time as he's done everything & should last.

THats my view....:amen:

Nothing wrong with being honest, just dont be too explicit about every little thing. Keep it simple in your ad, if they are genuinely interested they'll ask, if they don't ask, don't tell. Buyer beware. Good luck with the sale.

Its how you word it though.

You can say

Recent repairs/ replacements....

Instead of a long winded i fixed this and that.

After all it is sales patter. Emphasis the good and merely mention the bad.

Eg. Air suspension software recently updated so the ride is great now.

Your absolutely correct about how you state things.

I should talk; bought 1999 2.5 DSE off fleebay - advertised great motor, full service history, over £7000 spent on service repairs etc. I thought great & bought it. I haven't stopped spending yet. I found water in wheel well & split damage Pirelli Tyre, MAS unplugged, bolts to manifold loose or missing, leak off pip split, battery cover missing etc etc.. I contacted seller...... and he said ......... NO WARRANTY - he drove it fine...... (b'stard) I could sue him but who cares............

So your right about how things are stated. :scratching_chin:

I've got a focus st170 (2003) that's without an MOT, needs a couple of things doing but I really cannot be bothered to spend time/effort/money on something I want rid of, I'll be slinging it on eBay with 99p start and see what happens. Cost me £1700 just over a year ago but hey ho...if anyone buys these things its usually to sell on for a profit
