Am I asking too much for the 300 engine and transmission.

Am I asking too much for my 300tdi with R280 or is that 380 gearbox and disco transfer box.
I thought it was quite a good price seein as you get rad and intercooler and engine mounts and pipes and hoses and starter and alternator and engine wiring and power steering pump.
Maybe askin five hundred qiud is a bit steep but you cant buy it all separate for that price because I've had a look on ebay and added it all up.

Yes but I've done all the work stripping it out for you and getting shut of the scrap.

Not put it on here 'cause no one would buy it at that price.

Going on ebay next week and if it dont sell then I'll split it up and sell the engine for 300, gearbox for 100 and transfer box for 80 and the other bits should bring in about fifty quid so wont be far off 500 then eh

Gearbox and tranny box 50 quid a piece and 250 for the engine I would have thought.

To good to let go at that price, might as well keep it all. At least I know that it was well looked after by the previous owner and that there wont be any problems with it once fitted.
Not seen an R380 box go for fifty quid though and disco transfer boxes although plenty-full are not cheap, not for a good one anyway.

Just got £40 scrap for a disco chassis. have you thought of scrapping the lot. ally is fetching decent money at the mo

Good idea, shove it in the back of the 110 and weigh the lot in save a lot of trouble but only get about 200 for the lot.

mixed steel £145 a tonne, copper £4700 per tonne brass & bronze similar amount I think but even at cheapest price a disco is worth £300 scrap. break it & sort it & I reckon yu'd get about £600 scrap.

What Redhand says the Escort I pulled engine/box/interior/lock set etc

Cat cut off £35, some transformers £35and car loom £6= all in and car £164

Chassis inc fuel tank + 2/3rds of a 200tdi eggsauce = 260kg = 145/1000 * 260 = £37.50

I got 76 quid for 400 kilos so not much difference, mine was better quality with no Disco bits

We're only getting around £100 per tonne here.

Mind you we are out in the sticks - transport costs and all that. I may see what the other yard is offering. I've only ever been to the one yard.

cut the cat off any petrol cars, put the ****e they don't like taking under seats and fold backs down.
We pick them clean when we get something worth having, alloy wheels tyres off and steel inserts removed=clean alloy
