**** Alternator?

I put a new-un on a couple of weeks ago as my battery light was staying on after start up until i revved it...now with the new alternator, when i use anything electrical the bloody light comes on! its like having 2 indicator warning lamps!! arrghhh!!!
Im guessing the new alternators pants unless anyone can offer another possibility?

thought it was just the way of the fenders. my light will stay on until i pull away but charges fine and starts ok so hadnt let it worry me.............

I have that too as has my mate who has had his fender 2 years and has always done it. My dads peugeot does it too.. I'm not worried!

My light always used to stay on til after i'd revved it. Popped a new one in and it goes off as soon as the engine starts

have you checked the actual voltage at the battery?

that would be a start...

It could also be the battery not holding charge.

I have had problems with the cheap alternators, They need a good rev to get the light out and they only last about a year. I put a decent one on my landy about 4 months ago, light goes out when it is started and seems to be holding up well

i put an 90amp one on mine from a mini and runs fine now no red light at start, 200tdi defender

Remember if you put a higher output alternator on make sure you beef up the wiring
