Alternator Upgrade

Is it possible to get a larger output alternator for my 200tdi Defender? I think mine is 65amps and I dont think it is up to the job. When I run all the lights including my top four spotlights, two spotlights and main beam the gauge rapidly moves to the left and stays there. Can I upgrade it for something more up to the job or do I have some underlying issue????

65A is pretty much 750w, if we say for the sake of argument that all your lights are 55W and you're running 8 of em. That's only 440W. Giving you a 300W overhead.

There are 100A models you can buy, but looking at the math, you may be losing some juice somewhere

How can I find out where the juice is going if I am losing it?

Have a look at all ya earth straps, connections to battery, alternator etc.

lmao ooooh. Tapatalk is an app i use to view the forum on my phone. Didnt realise it would bother anyone to be honest. Have removed it now.
