Hi i belive my alternator is flattening my battery when the ignition is off as the red battery warning light stays on. Hav checked the connections on back of alternator and they are fine, no visible corrosion or anything. someone suggested the earth could be dodgy. wherabouts on the chassis is the alternator earthed? any other opinions or reasons why its doing this are welcome. (cnt test current in wires at the mo as dnt hav a multimeter  so any other methods greatly appreciated) cheers

It's not flattening your battery it's just not charging it. Agree with DM said diode pack is ferked. get your alternator repaired or replace it.
