Alternator fault

My P38 came up with "alternator fault" and the red battery symbol remained illuminated yesterday ,of course in the middle of a heavy downpour taking my daughter to the airport
Checked the output this am ,at 11,4 volts with the alternator body too hot to touch.Guess either shorted field coil or rectifier diode.Removed from vehicle,now anyone know of a place in Hants where I can have it repaired/overhauled or alternatively the best place to purchase a replacement.?

It has 94 as year of manufacture,so I guess it has had a good innings,cant complain too much,just the timing!

there ya go m8, i would always repair rather than renew. least ya know the bleeder is gonna fit when ya put it back on

Also check the loom where it runs over the front of the engine. It can rub through and earth out the alternator live. Mine did this and then energised no 1 injector. It looked like a tractor running until I traced the problem.
