Alternator fault message when first switched on

It only appears when the alternator output is low. No reset necessary.

It does not to my knowledge occur when the alternator output is low, it occurs when there is no voltage reversal on the D+ line from the alternator to the BECM, it is the only alternator line monitored by the BECM. As you say, no reset required.

Ok thank you all for the replies, looks like I need to check connection at the BECM and earth to chassis and engine

Before I take off the BECM plugs to see if they are corroded, can anyone tell me 'am I going to lose snyc?' Do I need to disconnect the battery first?
