Alternator and rev counter??

I have changed the u/s alternator and the RR lives again but now the rev counter doesn't work.

Have I disconnected something I shouldn't or simply not replaced a connection?

There should be a wire that connects to the W connection on the back of the Alternator that is the signal for the Rev Counter....check you have no loose leads round the back of the Alternaltr...and indeed have them on the right terminals!

Have you got the correct replacement alternator? They don't all have the rev counter output.
