Alternative bodywork seals?

Hi all
I'm getting a 1973 SWB back on the road and would like to renew all the bodywork seals other than around the doors (which are still pretty good). What I was wondering is whether there is a roughly common seal size that I could buy as a roll of expanded neoprene or solid rubber and make up the roof/sides/windscreen/door tops myself - this would be a lot cheaper than buying the original or Britpart replacements, so would make sense if it's possible. The existing seals have pretty much disintegrated, so there isn't much to work from, so if anyone can give me a clue on what size might do the job I would be really grateful - a local supplier has adhesive backed expanded neoprene in 25 x 10 or 12mm, which I thought might be about right?

ive used it for round the pedal boxes and under the floor... seems good but door seals are shaped?? neoprene will do but not look genuine

Thanks for the response, but I don't need to do the door seals, just the flat ones like roof to side panels and side panels to rear tub. I realise the door seals are more complicated, but maybe a lot of the others could be made up from a roll of expanded neoprene?

in that case yes no problem, just be careful drilling the holes as it has a habit of chewing up n pulling if u use too big a bit....... the bit can be far smaller than the bolt, u just need a pilot hole n it will seal better

iirc when I redid the seals around the hardtop of my s1 I just phoned dunsfold and got a length of seal from them to cut to size

I just asked for the seal for the hard top

The seal between my tub and hardtop has never sat right have just purchased a set second hand and they are totally different to what is fitted

I've renewed all bodywork seals on my 1983 with what Paddocks offered, Good fit, No Probs and I didn't think it was too pricy. Honest !

Thanks for all the comments, I'll take a look at Paddocks and maybe that's the easiest way to go, as the ones pictured look a lot thicker than I was expecting, so the material I had in mind would work out quite expensive anyway, as I would need double or triple thickness!
