Well, after years and years of coveting thy neighbour's Landy, we ended up lost, confused and carless, but with a few quid to spend on a new toy, needed something big because we have a smallholding and end up doing terrible things to nice cars.
So, we've ended up landing on an X reg disco 2 TD5 jobber without too much rust, and only a thin layer of oil on the underside. It was either this or a kia sorento automagic with a leaky gearbox.
Gave it a decent run home and google pointed me here half a dozen times trying to fix stuff.
So far, 2 window seals, a window frame, an indicator bulb and found a pulley where the ACE pump should be, and a short belt cunningly avoiding a seized AC compressor.
On the plus side, the pig looked comfy in the back.
