Just a quick question for all the Rangie Owners..

I've been looking at the 18" comet alloys on my range rover.

It's clear they will need to be refurbished but i've also been thinking of replacing them with either 18" mondials or Hurricane twin spokes!

what do you guys think i should do? refurb or replace with a different P38 wheel?

Just to add..

If you Guys/Gals can think of any other wheel choices post 'em

I'm limiting myself to factory RR P38 rims, no aftermarket rims on my watch ;)

IMHO, the Comet's are the some of the nicer wheels the P38 had available, although the Hurricane's are nice, finished with a bodycoloured highlight (Overfinch style) is a really nice styling choice.

I have 2 lots of Triple Sports as per Lone Wolf but I'll warn you now, they have the same issue as the Hurricanes in that the brake dust gets embedded bloody everywhere and is a sod to get out of all the crevices. I clean the wheels about once a year though. Maybe you do it every week.

i was after comets got 5 hurricanes unmarked on mine a woulda swapped but ye bit far away

Other thing to bear in mind is the rim width. 18" wheels are more precise and positive on the steering without a doubt but on rough roads (that's just about anywhere in the UK now apart from Pall Mall) you can really feel the extra cushioning from the 16" rims. Makes the ride so much softer and luxurious. I really wouldn't want 19" rims where I am.
