I'm glad you've managed to get one of these. I've always fancied one. Let's have some pictures when it arrives home.

That looks like it is in fantastic nick! :)

Doubt if you will regret that at 200 quid, they are a useful piece of kit on smallish areas.

Reason we got it is pops is old and decrepit these days 4 new hips and 2 heart attacks in at 79, so he can't do the garden anymore and there's not always someone available so the grass gets a bit wild in between cuts and this should make light work of it

Looks excellent. It's amazing how so many of these are still going strong decades after they stopped making them.

What I'd really like is one of those Howard Gem rotavators too.

It will! :) Properly set up and sharp they will deal with grass grown up to two feet high. The knife is basically the same as found on a combine, just a bit smaller.

Scythes are as tough as old boots, I know several people use them, not nicely restored like that, just old things.

Howard Gem is quite a good machine, we have an Italian Honda engined rotovator, I got it cheap from a garden machinery place, they had run over it with a tractor! Damage was mainly cosmetic, I just had to straighten out the hood, and paint it up a bit. :)

I think there's a rotavator attachment for the Allen scythe I know there's a table saw, snow plough, plough, and I think a barrow attachment.

tbh it's amazing what's on eBay if you type in classic tractor/ mower/ crawler, etc and some of the prices are really good there was a decent grey fergie with side mower starting at £1250 with 0 bids in really good nick

Not seen the rotovator in action, but should be good, the scythe is nice and stable with its big wheels.

That sound like a great price for the fergie, if it is a good runner. Bit undergunned for me, and the transport might be expensive :( But surprised there werent any bidders on it.

One of our stationary engine forum guys has a load of these, something like 100+ or so.

If you want his contact details, let me know by PM, I'll ask him to contact you if you include your email address.
