The greenest vehicle is the one already made, so an electric vehicle has no place in my world, ever.. :)

And I have looked.. New ATV ... garbage range, and very high price.. New main vehicle - range not too bad, but no towing limit to speak of

With the price of electricity as it is, and the relative short life of batteries (compared to an internal combustion engine) I think electric vehicles have no appeal to me.

Oh yes - and this too..;)

You have to remove a lot of dead weight first. Plus how will this be used by military, seeing Landrover is still a major customer.

If I had to go electric it might as well be a 1909 Baker electric [ See Jay Leno's garage on the tube ] Not much progress for over a hundred years with electric but that is because the oil giants wanted it that way. Bet the little Baker would be pretty good off road, great ground clearance and torque available.:)

If I'm still around I wait for hydrogen powered tech on existing engines ,they are hyping up electric but the electrical infrastructure and distribution is not there to charge all these vehicles

Have you seen the re-designs JCB have done ? Essentially, their existing short block with a new cylinder and such, running on hydrogen, in a full range of their construction equipment ... Quite interesting :)

Looks like we are going to have a hydrogen production near me. Power to do this will be from solar and wind they say. Rail line nearby to transport it.

With their reputation of superlative electrical systems, I'm sure an all electric Land Rover will stand quite well with their stellar internal combustion models.
In fact, it would be great to have a new clean modern Land Rover sitting uselessly in the drive next to the other dead or dying Range Rovers I own.
I can send you mine, it too is lifeless!

That'll be the big debate. An environmentally friendly Landy with an internal combustion engine which can't go anywhere because its broken. Or a leccy one which can't go anywhere because its made by Land Rover who aren't the best at leccy anything :D

No good for me would add 4 hours to my journey across the EU that's if it's a 1 hrs charge
And most of the petrol station have only got 3 charges if eny Croatia now has the Euro
