Hey guys, hoping for a little help please
I bought my Discovery 1 about 9 months ago and the alarm siren has never worked. It didn't really bother me so I never tried to fix it. I'm off work for 2 weeks now so thought I'd have a look at it..
The alarm on the car seems to work perfectly fine. As in you lock the doors with the 2 button fob, the doors all lock, and the hazards flash a few times. If you then open the door with the key, or anyone is moving inside when you lock the car (a dog for example) the hazards start flashing as if the alarm is going off. However, the siren doesn't sound.
I went looking for the siren and discovered it on the driver side of the engine bay but it was unplugged. Now this is the odd part, when I plugged the siren in it goes off. (I bashed my head of the bonnet it made me jump that bad!
) The hazards aren't flashing or anything and it doesn't matter if the car is locked, unlocked, doors are open/closed... It just stays going off.
Anyone got any ideas about what could be causing this? Is it the siren itself or something electrical further back? If you need anymore information on the car let me know as I'm stuck..
Thanks in advance,
Rob
