Alarm range.

Hi all
Does anybody know if you can improve the range the remote will transmit to the car?

how far is the range on yours mate , mine will operate no problem at 20 metre`s thats plenty for me , and miles better than the old classics which half the time you had to shove the blipper thingy half way in the car .
btw mine`s a 97 hse .

Has someone maybe disconnected your RF receivers aerial because of the interference problems they have?? I would check that first.

mine isnt great! sometimes less than a metre! tends to open from further away! and yes its a new fob, complete new fob 5 months ago, so new batteries too!!
dont know if the reciever mod has been done but dont know how to chech, if iansupra has limited distance it may be same trouble.
p.s. hows the supra? still got it?

Hi, yes still got the supra, Need to sell her though. The range on my car differs sometimes i have to be right next to it and sometimes it can be 10-15 meters, it would be good to find out about the receiver fix. where is the receiver?

its on the drivers side of the car behind the rear passenger seat, check the diagram below



I would of thought 10 meters was more than enough though. My mates just bought himself a brand new Peugeot and the remote on that works at ungodly distances. He can be in the back of his house with the car parked a few doors down from his house and if he accidentally hits a button on the remote it can still unlock it. So be careful if you get it working further you may accidentally unlock it or something.
