Hi all. Hope all had a good Xmas. Am looking for some help/advice. I have a discovery 2 metropolis td5 which has developed a weird problem over the last week. My girlfriend needed to use it but it wouldn’t unlock from key fob, so she left it. When I came home I could get into it either. So we unlocked the door with the key, alarm went off of course, so I popped the bonnet and disconnected the battery. Reconnected the battery and alarm kept going off. Disconnected again. Went in house for a coffee, came out, reconnected the battery and was able to disarm with fob and start the car. Left it running for awhile, turned it off and car worked fine. Open, lock, start etc. Left it an hour and it wouldn’t do anything again. I have took the RF module out and seems ok, cleaned earth etc. Disconnected battery, left 10mins, all ok again. Turned it off, walked away, nothing again. came out to it this morning and all ok again. Did a few jobs, kept trying it and all ok, then went in the house for a while, came out and nothing again. Anybody any ideas as it driving me potty now. Lol

Yes mate. Put new batteries in both. Have just checked the main battery and put a drop tester on it and found it’s just going into the weak. Voltage seems ok, but put in on charge over night and see what’s the amps are tomorrow.

Had an intermittent alarm fault with mine, don’t use the car often so borrowed a friends Hawkeye and turned off the alarm and immobiliser.

Have ordered a new battery today and after looking at various threads on here I have gone for a Tayna one. I have also looked at a receiver for it from rimmer brothers ( YWY00008) as looks like that’s playing up. Question is, will this part be brand new or reconditioned as been told I can’t get a brand new one.
