Alarm issues

Even though it's not the horn that makes the noise.

Bear with me on this one, noticed other day when I locked car with fob and kids were still in the car (messing about not like weirdo in America )that hazard lights went off but no alarm.
So up came the bonnet to check on things straight away I noticed alarm sounder wasn't plugged in,connected two ends and alarm sounded straight away.Only way I could get it to stop was disconnecting it.
Anyone got any ideas on what problem is and how to resolve it,help and ideas greatly appreciated its factory fitted system as well
