Boringly, the alarm / immobiliser / keyfob I got with my ill fated 110 CSW doesn't work. Perhaps slightly more interesting though is that none of the door switches which turn on the interior lights seem to work (i.e. when the doors open the interior light doesn't come on), even though both interior lights work fine.

I've had a look at the wiring diagram for the interior lights (Haynes manual diagram 8, page 13.30) and it flows through the alarm, so both faults are likely to be connected. All of the fuses check out fine, and just in case I replaced the battery in the key fob. I've also made sure both interior lights are set to the right setting, and that the wires are actually attached to the door switches.

Before I get busy with the mallet and chisel has anyone come across this before? I couldn't find the exact same thing in any of the existing threads. Haynes manual doesn't mention the alarm /immobiliser at all.

Ta very much.

Ive had no success with fixing mine.

my interior lights dont come on with the doors either, but the alarm (when it worked) still went off if you opened the doors.

just one point, is the LED on the dash flashing, or not?

There's an LED on the dash? LOL. No, nothing useful happening on the dash.

ah, if its the one in the pic, its a 96, same as mine...

one thing to try, take the instument panel out (4 screws) behind there is the alarm ECU, buried in the nest of cables is an inline blade fuse holder, its worth checking.

mines on the the roundtuit list for when it gets a bit warmer... but do shout up if you have any luck, mine did work when I got it, then just died...

Great thread, just what I was looking for.
I would never have thought that the interior lights were linked to my alarm/ imobiliser.

I didn't fully follow that alarm info in the difflock link, I'll have to read that again.

My indicators flash to deactivate and my horn sounds when I activate the alarm.
If I don't deactivate the alarm there is a hell of a noise when I turn the key and the engine wont start, so the alarm works.
However, I do have interior sensors but they don't appear to do anything as i can sit in the vehicle for ages and nothing happens

My big concern though is this spider thing, I don't want that fault!
Question is, has the previous owner aready addressed it?

Does anyone know how to get a replacement fob.
I've only got one and no paperwork with codes on!

Has anyone got any pictures of this?

I have the same problem... never bothered using the alarm, then noticed the interior light stopped coming on with the doors opening, and delayed light dim/off after closing door....

Irritated by constant dim LED on dash, so pulled fuse behind dash... LED still on.. humpf/aaaargh!!

Hope these are of help
