Alarm / Immobiliser info

Hi can anyone tell me why, sometimes after unlocking, and opening the drivers door my 2000 1.8 FL, i get approx 8 loud bleeps from behind the dash, and the red led flashes? Not every time though, and the fob etc seems to work fine.

change the battery in the key fob, it's the low key fob battery warning.

Thanks optimus, Is it just a case of fitting new batteries or do I need to re-sync the thing with the car?

if you're quick, you shouldn't need to resync. if you do, simply a matter of pressing a button on the fob 5 times in quick succession.
