When unlocking. The central locking works ok but the alarm goes off ? I have to lock and unlock to turn the alarm off. It doesnt help having a stiff lock any ideas pls thank you

If you lock with the blipper then you have to unlock only with the blipper. If you lock with the key then you can unlock with either the key or blipper.
The blipper sets perimeter alarm and interior sensor, the key sets perimeter alarm only (for if you need to temporarily lock a dog or small children, who are likely to move and set off interior sensor, inside vehicle)

Edit- 200tdi disco. 300tdi and later may be different- you dint say wot ya got:rolleyes:

With single button system you don't need a fob, so you can unlock and unset the alarm and remobiliser with a key.
The two button system unlocking is with the fob only otherwise the activation of central locking sounds the alarm as this system is voltage sensing.
Some early 300 series disco have the one button system.

I've only had the disco a month now and only ever had a key.. what I do is to lock it I turn the key to the right ( it's a tight to turn) and then the central locking locks all doors on returning the key back to the left the hazards flash.. When re opening as soon as I turn the key the alarm goes of so I quickly try to lock and unlock.. Just finding my way around so not sure on the alarm system.

I have 94 200 tdi

You will have two micro switches operated by a cam fitted to the rear of the lock. if the lock is tight to turn then "maybe" the switch isn't operating first time.

If the previous owner used only a fob to lock/unlock the key barrel will be hard to turn due to lack of use I know that as mine is as I only use the fob.
With your system if you obtain a fob you can use that after programing, then have remote central locking.. lots of info on single button fobs in the Forum if you look for it.

I have a late 200tdi and only have keys with mine.
If your lock is a bit stiff when you turn the key, take the inner door card off and lubricate all the locking device. Also spray oil inside the key hole.
