Saturday mornin opened rr as usual, to be greeted with message Alarm Fault! Everything unlocked and it started as should, but getting out only the rear passenger doors locked, fronts and tailgate not!
Tailgate works if lock/unlocked by key, key also activating rear doors. Front passenger door by interior button only.

Help please folks....any ideas??

I should have said, car is back with local garage where I had it from, they tell me they need to speak to local LR stealer for "technical advice" tomorrow!

Two local's Causeway in Bridgwater, Dave Evans in Weston, both have diagnostics. Are they likely to identify/isolate the fault?

yes at cost as always.

Prone to locks freezing up which sometimes causes one to open then others not, etc etc. Failing that it's usually a lock mechanism although it is most likely the cold freezing the internals like I said at the start. Is it a P38?

Yeah, 98 Rreg P38. Not freezing though when it happened; it was wet overnite, no ice tho! Only just had two new C/L units on front doors from last time it nakad-up! weird one.......as usual for these luvly beasts!!!! :(

There's a whole wealth of knowledge on here...........any-one got a clue, or am I totally dependent on local garage's limited knowledge / independent diagnostics?

Any suggestions appreciated folks.......just want th RR back and working!!

look at rangerovers.net ultrasonic interior sensor is quite common cause

Car wasn't "superlocked" so interior sensors not in use at the time that Fault registered.

Key operates two rear passenger doors C/L and drivers door only.............

Just gettin ridiculous..........if I had hair i'd tear it out GRRRRRR!!!

So sort the defective central locking before looking for more issues

Got the Range back, temporarily!

Having stripped doors, interior sensor, checked bonnet and tail switches, diagnostics run, they finally concur...

BECM is shot!!

Apparently sent "lock" message to doors, but failed to release signal, burning front door motors. They reckon wed/thurs next wk for BECM, so had the car back to use in the meantime (better than havin to hide in a lil daewoooo poo lol!)

Thank f&#k it's under warranty!!!

Not yet; BeCM still not delivered/fitted, delayed by snow/xmas break

Hopefully supplier and garage both back tomorrow - I'll be chasing them first thing. Pity Garage wouldn't accept Irishrover's deal........reckoned their source nearly £100 less in all, but at least he'd have done it over a week ago!

If you need BeCM PM Irish!!

Irish I am having the same problems and a serious battery drain (which I am putting down to locks) this all started when the fuse box burned out is it likely that my becm is bolloxed?

Sorry to hear your bad news and hate to say "I told you so" but it appears that the "Experts" from Essex could not sort it.

:behindsofa:

Thanks John :fighting:

They still not delivered, garage reckon they can't get them at the mo, closed for xmas/new year FFS!!!

They will be getting a call early on 2morrow!!!!!!!
