Hi,
It looks like I need to replace the airbags on my '96 P38. I'd rather not fork out to have them done but I haven't done this before so I have a couple of queries on the job.
I had a quick look last night and can see the retaining pins are well and truly corroded in so I guess its a case of getting out the cold chisel and cutting them off and hammer the remains out? I presume if I jack the back end up and drop the rear axle as far as possible the pressure in the system will be low enough to not be a hazard? How do you get at the airline to disconnect it? It looks like you have to remove the wheel arch liner to get at the connection is this necessary? How do you actually disconnect/reconnect the line from/to the airbags?
