Air Temp sensor part number td4

ok so been searching the net for two hours. I cannot find the Air Temp sensor or the part number for my 54 plate td4.
well frustrated, I know someone on here wil know where to find it.
car has been smoking on start up and has a flat spot after changing gear.
decided to disconnect the air temp sensor and low and behold car starts clean and runs lots better. I guess sensor is cream crackered.
can someone please help me locate the damn part number

i am really surprised how bad the car runs due to this sensor being duff

That's handy to know. I could only find it with the piping too.

These turbocharger boost temperature sensors can usually be cleaned with electrical contact cleaner or carb cleaner quick burst and let it dry off reinstate, but remember that it is connected to the MAP sensor which is the turbo boost pressure sensor mounted on the side of the manifold this could be gunged up from the black sludge that passes through the EGR and manifold I clean mine at least once a year if not two, but good link and good price if they do the job as the original one did or doe's.

thanks for reminding me Lowbank, disconnected mine yesterday whilst fiddling with the ronbox and forgot to replace the circlip to hold the connector on, it had shaken loose. Now all fixed.

Removed the sensor today and gave it a clean. When the car is cold with it pluged it like a 4 cylider petrol running on 3 cylinders but it s ok hot. Unplugged cold runs smooth as it should, however has less power when the turbo kicks in.

Did the clean work for you ? as above change my at least once a year along with the EGR, manifold, MAP sensor, PCV filter as all these can and do get clogged up

Cleaning a faulty sensor won't magically fix it. However cleaning a functional but dirty sensor will improve its response time.
A resistance check and various temperatures is the best way to test it.

I think cleaning the sensor in pics three and four would be advised for me.
you did a very thoruogh job there.
Did it fix it, no not really as I said above its like etrol running on 3 when it cold, but its fine if I unplug the sensor.
