Evening team.

My old bus is suffering from "saggy bottom" syndrome. It's running a little low on the back end, and pressing the raise button runs the compressor fine but the stance remains low. When I get out and lock the truck I've noted that I can no longer hear the gentle hiss and click of the valve body lowering the arse as it used to.

The compressor runs fine and I cannot hear air escaping (though I understand I likely won't). Both sides are equal in height.

I had a warning light on the dash some time ago about the air suspension, but I didn't notice any height difference at the time and it went away after key off and back on.

I've checked the fantastic post about the nuts and bolts of the D2 air system (https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/disco-ii-air-suspension-–-the-definitive-guide.171995/) but I'm not certain on the cause still, surely if there was a dodgy bag one side would raise as normal and the other wouldn't?

I've ordered a pair of level sensors to fit as mine are quite crusty, but what else can I check?

Cheers folks!

Have you got someone to put it on "raise" while you stand there and watch it to see if it moves at all?
No unheard of for twos of things to go at the same time.
Bathtub curve and all that!

Hi, the gist is in this
pressing the raise button runs the compressor fine but the stance remains low.
so to be clear if you push ORM button:
1. does it raise and the compressor + warning stops after about 30 seconds or so just that both normal and extended heights are too low?
2. it keeps running and flashing and doesnt stop on it's own?

for 1 a calibration is needed as was lost somehow...
for 2 you need to rebuild the compressor with the piston seal cos it has not enough guts to inflate and lets air back when the valves are open

Cheers both. With the button pressed (and door closed) the pump runs normally without any odd noise.

The arse remains planted resolutely where it was, no movement whatsoever. It stops by itself around 20-30 seconds later. No bongs, but the high ride light remains lit (presumably as the vehicle believes it's in high clearance mode and is waiting for the 18mph trigger).

How is a calibration conducted? Nanocom?

That's very strange cos the light and compressor are supposed to stop only when the ORM height was reached but if the rear doesnt move it gets no new input for that and normally it should keep going untill the pump's duty cycle is exceeded... though if the pump runs and no inflation you have to rebuild it with this: https://4x4airseals.com/product/air-suspension-compressor-piston-seal-repair-kit-4
Thanks mate. I'll get that ordered. Odd because the rear isn't actually on the stops either, just bizarre!

Update: got under the grotty mare this weekend and have replaced both rear level sensors, no change. Will fit the pump refresh kit next, any other suggestions whilst the credit card is out?

Arse is now flat on the ground! Two new Dunlop bags on the way, plus clips!

Will park it up for now until I can get the bags changed!

Update: both rear bags replaced, problem now solved.

Oddly, it appears both bags were not able to retain pressure past a height point an inch or so below standard road height. Sitting lovely now, haven't fitted the pump refurb kit yet either!

Cheers all.
