To all those who made derogatory remarks, the kit i made is working perfect, all 4 corners correct ,can lower or rise as i wish. As for the compressor problem, solved that. Wasn't so FECKING stupid after all. And u won't get 175llb pressure direct off compressor !!!! Case closed.

Did you compare it to a known good, working system?

Can't possibly see how it could measure up to the original in any shape or form.. and that's coming from someone who's had endless problems with it!

You will if it's in first class condition and working correctly. Case closed.

Wonderful, lost all the benefits of the EAS, should have just put it on coils.

Thanks for the comment Datatek. Would never put coils on any of my P38's. To update u, i have been working on the early Rangies since 1973. I have recycled them, built them from scratch, put combinations of engines and gearboxes in them from Perkins 3 cylinder engines to the best of the jap engines. Built up a file on them that is huge. But 3 years ago decided to buy a P38, although all my friends shook their heads. I now have 3. Also a 1971 Rangie with a galv chassis, and 4 door shell, and the Insurance Company ,and the DVLA know all about it. Also the only one in the World Coach built Utility Truck Range Rover. Sometimes i come across a problem that is illogical, so i ask around, i'm always willing to learn. When my friend plugged his Hawkeye in , he said got it, Compressor us. But it wasn't as simple as that. I changed lots of parts cause i have a spare P38 to rob. Got ****ed off cause wasn't getting anywhere, so thats when i made my kit up. Since then i bought a Black Box Nanocom, a wonderfull piece of kit. It was only 5 minutes to convert back to original EAS, and the fault came up immediately, so now i'm back on EAS, but the kit is staying in place in case of emergencies. I have friends who have pulled their hair out cause their car has refused to lift after being parked. One went through a puddle and dropped, and he drove 17 miles home on stops. So i won't have that problem. Finally ,as an enthusiast, its a challenge to make things to alleviate problems. I share my knowledge with good friends, never sneer at them, learn off them, and they off me. Finally, thanks to the people who have mailed me, and shared their experiences.

So you lack the ability to fault find a simple system and have bodged it.

Brand new compressor, sent it back now. Taken the easy route now, connected air bags to T pieces, , 1 schrader valve and pumped it up with the air line. Straight up like a good un. Going to remove valve block, fit a small compressor in there, T piece so i can pump tyres up , and raise suspension, Line inside the car, with tap to let air out when i want to lower it. Switch to operate compressor. Get rid of all the electronics .

Thats just daft not even id try that and i ran mine for a week with a ratchet strap to keep tension on my aux belt.

Personally i agree that you should have a back up for the eas, i have always carried 4 schrader valves on push connectors in my cubby box since i had to drive 35 miles home on the bump stops in my last P38, i also have a 12 volt compressor in the boot so I will never have to drive on the bump stops again unless i burst a bag.
I don't think fitting T adaptors is the way to go as this would allow air to pass to the valve block and if that's the fault you're going down anyway. Or even worse connecting 2 air bag pipes via a T piece to one Schrader which allows air to pass from one bag to the other, it must be like driving a fish bowl!
I disconnect the pipes from the valve block and push the schraders straight on the pipes then inflate each with approx 60psi.

The mentality of not having a back up is like not carrying a spare wheel because your car is designed to run on 4 wheels so why have 5.

So are you saying you have actually fixed it as everyone told you to do but left the back up bodge in place incase it goes wrong?
