I have heard it is possible to override the 40Km/hr speed limit for the air suspension to remain in the "high" or raised position. Can anyone help with how to do this ?

Why, because in Africa you sometimes got to go a bit faster than that on two track gravel. So, I would be interested too? Thank guys, merry christmas and all. Philip

Knowing how this system works i can give u an idea, it's based on pure logical reasons not a standard procedure(i didnt even heard of such thing untill now:eek:)....by the way the speed limit for ORM is 30km/h

So, the simple solution which will not affect other systems is to insert a switch in the exhaust valve feed circuit, thus and so when the SLABS ECU gives the input to the exhaust valve to release air if the switch is open the exhaust valve will just rest and the air will stay in the bags. I suppose u dont wanna' use the car this way for too long cos the ORM warning lamp will flash meanwhile(it's possible to override this too...everything is possible when wiring is involved;))....this is not so bad cos in this way u will not forget to close the switch back as soon as u dont need ORM anymore............though IMO this speed limit was developed for protective reasons, i dunno how a fully pumped air spring will behave when u go through a sandpit at (i.e) 80km/h or at some bigger shock.

If u like this idea and u are not very fammiliar with electric diagrams as to find an easyly reachable point to insert the switch i'll leed u further.....albeit my advise is dont do it, u better put some lift kit or u can calibrate ride sensors through tester as to keep the back a bit higher all the time.

Would it not be more sensible to fit coil springs and a lift kit?

I reckon if he keeps it lifted and hits the rough stuff he'll bust the bags soon enough.
