can anyone help, i have a p38 range rover with air suspension it is a M reg 4.0 SE petrol, when it starts up it take about 5 mins for the air bags to fill, then when i stop it dumps the air, is this a easy fix or does it have to go to the garage to be fixed. it was working corectly but gone wonky.

This is my first range rover can anybody help and is there anything i should keep a eye on, any feed back would be most welcome.

Sounds like a leak to me, have a look underneath at the airbags and look for cracks. as well as testing for leaks. Push home all hoses on ths cylinder block as these can leak. Use a spray bottle with dilute washing up liquid or gas leak detector you can buy from a good plumbers. Was off the spray after with clean water as washup contains salt.
Airbags are not that expensive and are fairly easy to replace.

Sounds like an easy fix, find the leak/leaks, should be fairly obvious if going down quickly, keep an eye on your compressor as it won't last long trying to keep up with a major leak.
Is it going down on all four corners, do you have any error messages

Ok Dizzy old bean, start the car and leave the bonnet and driver door open, go round to the compressor compartment and feel the top you should feel it vibrating/running?. take the lid off, now after a relatively short time the system should be fully pressured and you should hear the compressor stop abruptly. If this isn't the case you may have a substantial leak or worn compressor seal. Get the old soapy water spray out and spray around every joint to do with the EAS, tops of airbags all around the solenoids connections, compression tank etc.
To get to the airbags properly you may have to leave the door open (so the compressor is running) for around 10 mins (as above) then shut all doors and bonnet get in the car and push the selector to the high position, the car should shoot up.
If you find no leaks I would almost be certain it's your piston seal (pretty cheap to fix).
If the Rangee shoots up to high position unplug the EAS or leave a door open overnight then the old Rangee won't self level so she'll drop down in one corner and that's where your fault is.:mooning: :mooning:
