ok so out tonight in her and 4 times (approx every 30 mins) went into soft mode, luckly had laptop with me so cleared fault which showed rhsensor incorrect each time ?

May not be a sensor....

If the ECU commands a height change but it doesn't acheive this...it will consider a fault with a sensor or the valve is stuck...

If you have jacked up the car to replace the airbag...on lowering the axle the height sensor could have been taken to a point on the wiper surface with a bit of dirt on, on putting the vehicle back on the ground, this dirt has been trapped o the sensor wiper area and not give a correct signal to the ECU
The sensor in question is a brand new one

Is it a Britpart sensor by any chance?
Get the car at normal height, plug in and read the actual sensor heights and see if the reading from the FR is unusual, drop to motorway height and check again, up to wading and repeat looking for an unusual reading.

Maybe your wiring is not good, how did you make the connections with the new wiring? Did your new wiring go all the way from the sensor to the ECU? Or perhaps the sensor is faulty.

It was sold as a new genuine range rover p38 sensor.
Will check all that in the next couple of days and rewired from sensor to ecu

The only change was the lead that came off the height sensor, it was the Same bar the fact the later model came with an adaptor lead to fit the lead linking the height sensor

So now have new seals on compressor so working alot better, also checked and no further leaks. But still problems with rh sensor, took reading today after clearing fault again.
access 64 - 124 - 67 - 68 (not fully locked)
standard 139 - 92 - 100 - 100 (fully locked)
high 157 - 80 - 124 - 115 (not fully locked)

So am I right in saying right sensor not wired correctly in which case what 2 wires to swap round

Try the 2 outer wires first.
