Hello all,
I am thinking of servicing my air suspension compressor and wonder the best option?

I hoped with your experience you could tell me the best way to go.

I have seen aftermarket ones advertised for about £150.00 vs Land Rover one for £ 480 bit eye watering.
This is one of the aftermarket ones ..any thoughts please?

https://aerosus.co.uk/land-rover/di...er-discovery-2-air-suspension-compressor.html

The other thing I thought about was buying a repair kit and doing an overhaul on my bench on a unit these seem to have a new piston ring and O rings.

I have read various postings on the air suspension, one saye's you just undo the lines and let the air out after removing the battery earth,I assume the rear will drop on to the stops is this still current advice please?
Thank you.

That Aerosus compressor has now dropped to £140.00. To be honest I wouldn't hesitate. I have one fitted since June 2018 with no problems.

If yours generally works ok, no nasty noises etc, maybe just a bit slow filling the tank, I'd say service what you have. At least take it apart and see the overall condition. It may well have many years good service left in it, can you say the same about the aftermarket part?

Thank you both, lots to think about ...Can I just disconnect air lines, unpulg and remove or do I need a Nanocom to do it?

Not sure if its working, no lights on the dash, rear of car seem low to me and I never hear it working,I am sure with my old TD5 I did hear it.I am going to replace the air bags and the sensors as well.
I did the sensors on my TD5 and was persuaded to buy Genuine Land Rove ones at £40.00 each,I see now loads of aftermarket ones around, so not sure what to do...anybody got any experience with these please?

Air bags I plan to buy Dunlop ones.

Cheers

If it's not working then the car will be on the bump stops all round
Edit. Sorry, disco is airbags on the rear only i think?
Pretty sure you will have a dash light of there's no air in the system

Thank you very much thats good news, I think I will stick with the original one if I can service it okay.
If not I will buy the Aerosus one.

Car does not seem to go up at the rear with engine running/off road switch operates and flashes correctly but the car does not go up is the reason for the work and I read the bags should be replaced every 5 years on the forum.

Hello all,
I am here again asking for hope and guidance please....I have taken the leap and bought a Nanocom as i seems to me all roads with Disco lead to Nanocom to do most things.
I have used it on the SLABS system and it says under faults "LH valve open circuit 15 times since the15th April",so taking the cover away from the compressor under the passenger side.I see the valve block in one piece and held in place with two bolts.10mm nuts on the tubes.

My question is can I change this without the suspension going down? or will it collapse if I remove it?...I am hoping the air bags have a non return valve on them.

Been quite a learning curve with Nanocom,I did manage to program my cheap Chinese key, it took 4 attempts to do it, unsure why,I read on the forum it does not work sometimes and it said keep trying. It worked.

Nanocom has lots of the information but unsure what it means, but keeps me happy in my dotage!.
Thank you gents.

I have changed the compressor over, plus the rear height sensors, replaced relay R5 and checked fuse 28 underneath the dashboard, fuse 11 underneath the bonnet and the 30amp fusible link...still air suspension does not work. When i reconnected the battery and started up the "off road light" came on and would not switch off. It just went off after plugging in Nanocom.

I have some odd readings on Nanocom and hope one of you can help me by telling me if this is right or wrong?,I have removed the glove box and checked the ECU is connected up and the earth, plus all the earths .

I can find and am at a loss what to do next...apart from replace the ECU.If I test the solenoid valves with Nanocom i can hear them operating, but compressor is dead,I know it works as I connected it up to a 12v battery before fitting.
Car will not let me adjust height, which I suppose is because comp is dead.Current height is 98 left and 109 right on Nanocom.

I think i have a power problem to comp and valves, but do not know why,I have tried with Nanocom with engine off and on...same.

I am really stuck and have put some pictures below of Nanocom and be great if someone can say yes or no ..please.
