hi all given up on the electrics for now . i have just got a 200 tdi air box to replace the oil bath filter as i want to fit a second battery in its place to aid starting on the cold mornings .i have read some posts about fitting this air box .but i have tryed and cant find a place to fit it .also has anyone put twin batterys on and how did you do it cheers dockrat

Fitting a second battery to help cold starts? I dont follow that logic...just buy one decent battery?

I fitted a RRC EFi airbox where the heater would go on a S3...and dual batteries where the oil bath would be.

good point about one decent battery just thought twin would be better . for when i put spot lights and cb in and all the other stuff i have planned for it . i seem to be on a bit of a roll latley. welding all done. under wing mudflaps fitted getting to grips with the wiring its just a bad starter when im on nights so need a boost some times. will have to get the heater plugs checked and a bit of draft proofing then im ready for the winter .on the air filter i think the 200 tdi airbox will have to be modified to fit . like chop the bottem of it so it will fit on top of the moter or under the passinger side wing . or buy a smller air box from the scrappy cheers

Worth checking your cold start procedure...

I have a petrol now, used to have a diesel, I swapped the glow coils for plugs, new ballast coil too, but even so, on cold days would need 30 seconds of preheat before firing up nicely.

What engine have you got?
My old 2 litre diesel the fore runner to the 2.25 was 10 sec pre heat foot flat to floor and away it went.
It had the tdi starter fitted which probably helped and the old style curly glow plugs which i have read are meant to be better than the later straight ones for cold starts.
Didnt matter what the outside temperature was it was always the same.

2.25 diesle .just got a new heeater plug thingy and some more heater plugs goingto fit them next week see how we go then .cheers

Got 2 batteries in mine, soon to be 3, one is under the passenger seat (made the box deeper for it) and the other two will be located in the back in a custom battery box (currently one is just strapped in the back wrapped in pallet wrap to keep the rain off.

Why? I dunno... cus i can? Batteries and power are always useful, will have a few kill switches for the winch and alike and a few 12v outlets on NL4 type connectors.

I also had a 200tdi air filter fitted but am removing it as it is where the servo would sit for the brakes ( I didn't have a servo, but, will do now)

that 220 air box how was it fitted got any pics . the one i have just seems to big to fit any where cheers
