air con

Hiya me again. As a newbee to air con,(last wagon open all windows and suck in all dirty air!!) tried mine for the first time today, didn't seem very cold. My mates escort is absolutely icy . Did all the things the manual says but still not very cold. Am i expecting too much, should i check anything else?... cheers .

Does it need re gassing?

easy peasy to re gas,just done mine myself with a can of what ever it was .
only cost 36 quid.

Exactly what I have had for the first 7 years I had the car but which improved drastically since the day my wife took things in hands and found out the way the settings should have been since the start (but can't be found in the manual, they say sh.. about how to set the ventilations both for heating and a/c). Now I drive with a fine heating and a/c unit with the left hand turning knob all the way to the left. (Air coming out of the front dashvents only).

cheers will, set controls as you said...still not cold. Off to kwik fit next weekend, think i'll try a recharge mate.
