Air con not working

Unlike a standard fridge unit that is sealed a car uses multiple Flexi hoses and joints that even under ideal conditions will dry up and let gases slowly leak. As cars age this will get worse unless the hoses etc are replaced. Plus the aircon system has a lubricant in it that if not used isn't being pumped around the system.
And the biggest reason it's a sodding land-rover, need I say more.

Sounds like a complete Dingle. There's more to it than system pressure. Just take it somewhere else and just ask for a re-gas. Even though it's called a re-gas, there's multiple stages to the service, it's more like a rejuvenation than just adding gas.

Try Quikfit. They have the proper equipment and test the results after the work is done.

It did literally look just like the do it yourself recharge kit you can buy.

I will make an appointment with kwikfit.

Well lets see got a 1998 and 100k miles on it , got a 2005 with 240kmiles on it have never touched either of the ac units and the work wonderfully . need I say more

Lovely, very glad for you.
Mines been pressure tested and there is no leak. The main culprit on a Freelander are the 2 hoses at the bottom front near the aircon rad, they're rigid rubber hoses, but due to where they are they move and vibrate quite a bit. If you add the aircon leak detector you can see where the gas has come out, but with the car stood still and pressure added to the system they don't leak. It's a quite fantastic design.
