had a leaking front airbag the compressor was still working the day befor but the morning when i changed the bags the whole car had sunk to the ground and now bags have been replaced the bleeding air compressor wont kick in i know the system needs reprograming as it shows fault on the instrument panel but when i have had to get it reprogramed due to flat battery in the past the compressor still worked and lifted it enough to get it to the gararge so ain't a clue why it aint kicking in now'it cannot be a fuse because it ain't got one and shows a blank where one should be in the manual. so does anyone know if the ECUwill stop the compressor.
any idears welcome.

try the eas software with a lead and laptop
RANGE ROVER P38 OBDII TO SERIAL LEAD & SOFTWARE FOR EAS on eBay, also, Land Rover, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 28-Jun-09 21:52:12 BST)

if its showing a fault on the dash display its picked up a hard fault and will need clearing before the system will inflate again.
ok aas will try this and see what happens i know a guy with one of the metres that will do that for us but i am going to put a hot start fix on it so best wait for that or else will have to do all again.
many thanks.

chances are when the bag gave up, the compressor went into overdrive to try and keep it inflated, no-one told the compressor it was a pointless excercise until the ecu realised it was going for a lot longer than it was designed to. The compressor is thermally protected, (3rd wire) but ecu normally works it out beforehand. Probably logged in as a critical fault and will need clearing via software :-(
