My Hippos been gone 3 weeks now, as have the sleepless nights, bad dreams, worries about things going wrong with huge bills (oh, and also 30mpg).

Now getting 43mph on a 1.8Tdci, and no hope of failed IRD's, VCU's, 3 amigos etc !

Luvly jubbly.....:tea:

if its a ford tdci theres no ird and vco but there is clutches and dual mass flywheels lol

Hope it's not the Peugeot/Citreon engine as they have problems with oil knackering up the variable vane turbo. Turbo suppliers don't give a warranty as this is a known problem with this engine. Read that the turbo can be removed, cleaned and refitted though so worth bearing in mind.

Give it a few months and you'll have withdrawal symptoms. What up doing with all that spare time?

Think he`s already got them.
Bet whenever he see`s a Landy he thinks,"I was one of those brave boys once,
now I am just another boring Ford driver", like millions of others.:D

Ha ha yes, I know about the possible turbo issue.

Yes, when I drive down the road, and see a Hippo, I think "there go's a broke or soon to be broke poor old bastard" !!! :hysterically_laughi

1.8 is ok, the 1.6 is a pile of poo, dmf is a problem but it's the dpf, egr, turbo and few other bits that cause major issues ;)

Fords are what i no

the EGR sytem is poo on the tdci... so they went from vacuum to electronic and it was worse so i no they have gone back to the vacuum system

if yours does play up and you do have the vacuum system then you can blank them off with no problems at all as its only the electronics that bring on the lights dual mass flywheels on fords can be changed for single mass and 95% of the people who do the change i was one of them have no worries at all.

same with tdci injector recoding can be done without a garage for the small price of a F super cable which is laptop based ( again i own one from my ford days)

the turbo are variable vain turbos are great lots of power no lag
but they do soot up lot and i had to clean one of my tdci mondeos 3 times in 1 year but that was also before i blocked my EGR off

Went from 2.0 tdci to hippo, main dealer fsh,60k,injectors,injectors...taxis..injectors..."fell to bits"na good luck mate, now Octavias are good motors...
