Hi guys new to the place and thought I'd say hi and ask a few questions. As title states main one is about tyres and which ones? I have a 99 range 4.6 hse with 18s on and tyres read 255 55 18 and are Pirelli scores st. As looking into things I see these are virtually harder to get than an invite to watch the new royal birth that's about to happen so need to look and something different. Have used toyo proxy t1rs on my tvr for past 10 years and would never use anything other than and see toyo do ones for the RR so are these any good. The RR will be generally used to and from work on normal town roads and country lane driving with motorways as and when, not really gonna Be heading off road but would like something that can handle itself If I find myself up s**ts creek ( off to wales in 3 weeks and don't want to get stuck anywhere). Also as and when it decides to snow I need use as the tvr is great fun on snow but don't trust other people not to aim at me!!! So which tyres would people throw in the gat for suggestions?

Second question i am in the south essex area so what garages do people use for services and what not. I do have one but always handy to know a few just incase can't get seen.

Any help would be great

Cheers Paul

Cheers for the replys. By chance I managed to get hold of scorp st's but did get that are you mad look by fitter when asked for 30psi on front and 38 on rear as told by guy I bought from. But was told I needed 36 all round which he did but car felt juddery. After checking on here I see a big swing from low 20s to low 30s on front and high 20s to upper 30s on rear so changed to what I was told and will play about from there I think.

General Grabber AT on my D2 in 255 55 18 size, excellent hard wearing reasonably priced tyre, previously ran their AT2 which was also good. I run 32 front and 40 rear for towing.

Just fitted the new Good Years on my P38 and so far quite pleased. Good Year were always good on other cars and liked them on Army Land Rovers when cost didnt seem so vital as now.

Mine was twitchy on Goodyear Wranglers.

When I bought mine, it had a couple of Nexen Roadians, a Wrangler and one other make that I can't even remember.

I changed them last year so that I had Nexen Roadians (following recommendation from DataTek) on all 4 corners. Great tyres and a very reasonable price...made it a much more enjoyable driving experience!

heres an example from asda tyres,255-65r-16 109h,scorpion str(on my d2-£101.96 each, all inclusive of balance, valve, disposal etc,and you get to pick participating fitters.
