Hi,

Well the rear window packed in this evening refusing to close. So I've been hunting around the Internet for a new window regulator. I've noticed that you can get genuine ones for about £130 or aftermarket for about £60! Are the aftermarket ones any good or is it worth paying the extra for the proper one?

You can get a kit for about £12 off ebay, which just includes the cable and pulley assembly. They are a bit fiddly to fit (you need four hands!) , but the saving is worth the hassle if you ask me.

Try this one for size

Alternatively purchase a secondhand geninue one for around the same price as a non geninue part.

As Hopo has said you can get a kit from ebay but you have to be careful as some of the kits do not work as the cables have been manufactured incorrectly.

I manufacture my own cables in stainless steel with the correct crimped on fittings for window regulators especially Freelander ones but usually dislike doing the tailgate regulator as they are fiddly and time consuming. I also break Freelanders as a business with an ebay shop.
