Hi All!
I have a problem. After I lost my keys I have discovered I have lost the master bullet key for a MI600 Microscan immobiliser (installed 2008). The others do not work! So the defender won't start.

Ive located the immobiliser and plan to remove it. Do you have any tips on how to do it? I have the wiring diagram but all wires to it are black for security reasons.

Is there a quick hack to bypass it to get her back on the road as soon as or do I need to follow each wire, ID it and re join where they were split.

Many thanks
Gray

I'd contact the manufacturer or installer ...

I have rang the manufacturer, the numbers don't work, as for the installer I don't know who that would have been. The paperwork that came with the defender had a printed off web page, it says 'get a qualified person to install it'

Its easy to do Ive removed a couple from old cars, common sense tells you what goes where, basically the clue is in the wire colours the black immobiliser wires join to.

ACE! Many thanks for your help!! I am on the case to rip it out (carefully) and follow the wires. Thanks for the instructions too!

I have chased the wires. It looks like they only operate the electrics on the ignition.

Is this correct for a 200tdi diesel?:
Brown leads to Terminal 1
White leads to T2
White red to T3

The white/red has been cut and I cant find the other end. Where will that go?

The white has been cut and attached to two wires in the immobiliser. Then lower down I've found it again, with another immobiliser wire attached. Looks like all I need to do is connect that back up/

The brown has a plug on the end and a immobiliser wire spliced into that. Looks like I need to remove it? Or what is that other plug for? They are both brown and lead off under in the same coil of wire?

There are 4 wires from the ignition block, I cannot trace where the Red/White Wire goes? Could someone help with the answer please?

Red/white most likely starter trigger wire
If you think how simple the 200 wiring is you can only really cut two circuits 1 being the inj pump stop solenoid and 2 the starter trigger wire.

Also, there is a this White/Red wire that is connected to the immobiliser. It is much thinner than the one on the ignition. Does anyone know what this is please?
It goes off in the same spool of wires as the brown one from the ignition.

Many thanks for the info. I think it might go to the starter relay, will do some digging on that.

Brill. Many thanks, I will try to locate the wire, It is not behind the dash. Might it go to a reduced diameter and be that other White/Red one?
Maybe, but then yours has been rewired. The ignition should have A brown (non fused supply), a brown/red (glow plugs), a white/red (starter) and a white for the power to the lights (and fuel cut off)
If it refuses to crank with the ignition switch, then your red/white from the immobliser is probably the cause. You could connect it to the white/red at the ignition switch and try again.

Brilliant, that is really helpful info. I think I am close to understanding how it works. I will do the rip out/repair tomorrow.

Thanks everyone! I have removed it. It was not as hard as I expected. It was only the thrid and second positions that were wired into it.
I can drive it at last!

Now I will come up with the new immobiliser system. I thought to have a secret switch or two.
