advise needed after cambelt change

hi i changed the cambelt on my 300tdi today i turned it over a couple of times rechecked the timeing marks started it up started fine idles fine but when you pick the revs up the engine noise sounds louder and when i took it for a test drive it semt to be a bit boggyer no smoke the only other thing when i took the belt of the cam pully looked like it was half a tooth out. any ideas thans.

Did you slacken off the tensioner and then rension it back up and check that the timing pins still fit in ? If you didn't then that can knock the timing out. Some instructions leave that out but you do need to do it. Just an idea mate !
